 A2 level in German is the elementary level according to the CEFR, building on A1 knowledge. At this stage, learners can handle simple everyday tasks and understand frequently used expressions.

•  Can participate in simple, direct exchanges about familiar topics.
• Can handle short social interactions but may struggle with unexpected situations.
• Can describe everyday activities and express likes/dislikes with confidence.

 A2 is the level where learners start engaging more actively in conversations and develop a stronger grammatical foundation! 

•  Can understand phrases and expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g., personal and family information, shopping, local geography).
• Can grasp the main points of short, clear, and simple messages or announcements.

•  Can communicate in routine tasks requiring direct exchange of information on familiar topics (e.g., hobbies, travel, health).
• Can describe their background, immediate environment, and matters in simple terms.

•  Can understand short, simple texts such as advertisements, timetables, or personal correspondence.
• Can find specific information in everyday material like menus, brochures, or schedules.

•  Can write short notes, simple letters, or messages (e.g., an invitation or a thank-you note).
• Can describe personal experiences in simple sentences.

•  Tenses: Present tense (review), past tense (Perfekt), and modal verbs (können, müssen, etc.).
• Example: "Ich habe gestern Fußball gespielt." (I played football yesterday.)
• Cases: Nominative, accusative, dative (focus on prepositions and verb usage).
• Example: "Ich gebe dem Kind ein Buch." (I give the child a book.)
• Comparatives & Superlatives:
• Example: "Das ist besser." (That is better.)
• Word Order: Subordinate clauses with conjunctions like "weil," "dass," "wenn."
• Example: "Ich lerne Deutsch, weil ich in Deutschland arbeite." (I am learning German because I work in Germany.)
• Reflexive Verbs: e.g., "sich freuen" (to be happy).
• Example: "Ich freue mich auf den Urlaub." (I am looking forward to the vacation.)

•  Daily Life: Health, shopping, work, hobbies.
• Travel: Booking tickets, asking for directions.
• Food: Ordering in a restaurant, discussing preferences.
• Family & Relationships: Talking about relatives or friends.
• Descriptions: Colors, sizes, and characteristics.

•  Talking about daily routines and past activities.

• Making appointments or arrangements.

• Expressing preferences or opinions.
